HOPE, Ark.—Hugh Franklin Ward, 84, of Hope died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Ward was born Aug. 15, 1923, in Rosston, Ark. He was a truck driver and farmer, a member of Union Baptist Church and an Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheila Jean Adams.

Survivors include his wife, Eula Elizabeth Dixon Ward of Hope; one son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Mike and Mona Ward of Spring Hill, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Ward and Bill Lewis of Hope; two brothers, Denver Ward of Hope and Ray Ward of Bodcaw, Ark.; three sisters, Verlene Cole of Buckner, Ark., Trudie Dillard of Bodcaw and Dorothy Jackson of Waldo, Ark.; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednes-day at Union Baptist Church with the Revs. Joe Brown and Mike Ward officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery under direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
