DE QUEEN, Ark.—Johnnie “Bud” Goins, 86, of De Queen died Saturday, May 3, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mr. Goins was born March 11, 1922, in Horatio, Ark. He was retired from Somerville & Son Tie Co. and a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Merle.

Survivors include two sons, Johnie L. Goins of Paris, Texas, and Joe Goins of Lockesburg, Ark.; two daughters, Sue McDonald of Lockesburg and Debbie Hanney of De Queen; one brother, Bill Cody of Jonesboro, Ark.; three sisters, Belle of Arkadelphia, Ark., and Doreen and Bonnie of Fort Smith, Ark.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Clear Creek Cemetery with the Rev. J.L. Walker officiating. Burial will be under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Friends and family will meet at Old Time Missionary Baptist Church in De Queen for lunch after the service.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
