ATLANTA, Texas—S.G. Nichols, 92, of Doddridge, Ark., died Sunday, May 4, 2008, in Atlanta.

Mr. Nichols was born May 21, 1915, in Cass, Texas. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, a deacon and member of First Baptist Church, Bloomburg, Texas, and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Blackmon Nichols.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Benny Solley and Yvonne and Kenneth Vestal of Bloomburg; one brother, Earl Nichols of Houston; two sisters, Eleanor Philpott of Atlanta and Rabie Mustian of Graham, Texas; three grandchildren, Brad Vestal and Joanna Hundl of Bryan, Texas, and Joe Ben Solley of Doddridge; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Hanner Funeral Service with the Rev. Franklin Orr officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.
