ASHDOWN, Ark.—Mary Helen Beard, 67, of Ashdown died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at the home of her daughter.

Mrs. Beard was born June 11, 1940, in Lew-isville, Ark. She was a retired nurse’s aide and a Baptist.

Survivors in-clude her husband, Richard Beard; one daughter, Shirley C. Johnson; her parents, Ezekiel and Izetta Williams; four brothers, Sam Williams, L.B. Williams, L.C. Williams and Vincent Williams of Texarkana; five sisters, Ruby Mays of Columbus, Ohio, Viola Price and Minnie McAdoo of Los Angeles, Beaulah Walker of Sacramento and Lurinza Bean of Richmond, Calif.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be noon Saturday at Cedar Springs Baptist Church with Dr. O.D. Woods officiating. Burial will be in Old Town Cemetery, Lewisville, under direction of Moore’s Funeral Home.

The body may be viewed 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.
