CLARKSVILLE, Texas—James Ellis Goodman, 85, of Clarksville died Friday, May 9, 2008, in a local hospital. Mr. Goodman was founder of Goodman Insurance, Clarksville, a member of Layman’s Class and McKenzie Memorial United Methodist Church and a Marine veteran. He was preceded in death by two wives, Dixie Peek Goodman and Mary Payne Goodman. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Karen Goodman of Emory, Texas; two stepchildren, Bob Burris and Lou Ann Viergever; two grandchildren and one spouse, Kirk Goodman of Tyler, Texas, and Jeff and Dusty Goodman of Reno, Nev.; one sister, Mary Evelyn Skinner of San Diego; and two nieces, Bonnie Wettengel and Kathy Anderson. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at McKenzie Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lew Stokes officiating under direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to McKenzie Memorial United Methodist Church, 1809 S. Donoho, Clarksville, TX, 75426.
