Carl W. “Bill” Owens, 93, of Wake Village, Texas, died Monday, May 12, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mr. Owens was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Kansas City, Mo. He was a cattle rancher, a former president of Lockesburg School Board and Sevier County Farm Bureau, a Sunday school teacher, a member of Lockesburg Methodist Church and Lakeside Methodist Church and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Owens.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda April Stavely of Nashville, Ark., and Judith L. and Rick Tremblay of Overland Park, Kan.; five grandchildren, Karen Kaylor of New York, Jason Tremblay of Austin, Brian Tremblay of Shawnee Mission, Kan., Robbie Stavely of Nashville and Mark Stavely of Fayetteville, Ark.; and two special caregivers, Judy Parker of Atlanta, Texas, and Annette McCandless of Texarkana.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednes-day at East Funeral Home, downtown. Burial will be in State Line Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Lockesburg United Methodist Church or Salvation Army.
