Leatrice Mae Blankenship Murdock, 95, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, May 12, 2008, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Murdock was born Nov. 12, 1912, in Almira, Texas. She was a homemaker and retired secretary and a Sunday school teacher, choir member and member of Buchanan First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Murdock Sr.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Chester and Jane Murdock Jr. of Garland, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Merajen Lumpkins and Cynthia and Carl Dickman of Texarkana; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be noon Wednesday at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Don Brazile officiating. Burial will be under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
