John B. Stuart, 79, of Texarkana, Ark., died Monday, May 12, 2008, in a local nursing home.

Mr. Stuart was born May 18, 1928, in Columbus, Ark. He was a member of Beech Street First Baptist Church and an Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Stuart of Texarkana; one daughter, Susan Stuart of Texarkana; one son, John Michael Stuart of Texarkana; one brother, Jack Stuart of Ogden, Ark.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Sam Cobb of Texarkana and Marguerite and George Branch of Camden, Ark.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at East Funeral Home, Downtown, with the Rev. Craig Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to Beech Street First Baptist Church or a favorite charity.
