PRESCOTT, Ark.—Willie Mae Wood, 80, of Prescott died Monday, May 12, 2008, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Wood was born June 23, 1927, in Hoxie, Ark. She was a homemaker, a former telephone switchboard operator, and a member of Redland Extension Homemakers Club and Shady Grove Baptist Church, Prescott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wood; and one grandson, Christopher Michael Inscore.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Eva Wood of Gurdon, Ark.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Roxie Ann and Sam Reel, Roberta and Wally Inscore and Rolanda “Linda” and Virgle Kisselburg of Prescott and Vickey and James Hicks of Bodcaw, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Burke officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.
