GERTRUDE EDSON

NEW BOSTON, Texas—Gertrude Lura Edson, 93, of New Boston died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mrs. Edson was born Sept. 2, 1914, in Foreman, Ark. She was a homemaker and a member of Dogwood Garden Club and Tapp United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Scott Edson Sr.

Survivors include two sons, John Scott Edson Jr. and Don Edson of New Boston; one daughter and son-in-law, Nora and Norman Smith of Las Cruces, N.M.; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Virginia Webb of Texarkana; one sister, Lorene Phillips of Foreman; two grandchildren, Daniel Scott Edson of Tyler, Texas, and Rachel Ellen Edson of Cedar Park, Texas; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Tapp United Methodist Church with Lee Staats officiating.

There is no set visitation.
