ASHDOWN, Ark.—Claude Shackelford Hawkins, 84, of Foreman, Ark., died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, in Ashdown.

Mr. Hawkins was born Aug. 17, 1923, in Foreman. He was retired foreman of Little River County Road Department, charter member of Foreman Kiwanis Club, a member of Little River County Equalization Board and First Baptist Church, Foreman, and a World War II Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; one son and daughter-in-law, Claude Shackleford Hawkins Jr. and Donna Hawkins of Fort Smith, Ark.; two brothers, Dr. Henry Hawkins of College Station, Texas, and Paul Hawkins of Foreman; two grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Claude Shackelford III and Kristi Hawkins of St. Croix, Ark., and Ryan and Lana Hawkins of Oklahoma City; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today at Dollarhide Cemetery, Foreman, with Duaine Blackmore officiating. Burial will be under direction of Madden Funeral Services.

Memorials may be made to Foreman First Baptist Church Building Fund, or a favorite charity.
