STAMPS, Ark.—Fred Lee Smith, 71, of McNeil, Ark., died Saturday, May 10, 2008, in a Magnolia, Ark., hospital.

Mr. Smith was born March 8, 1937, in Waldo, Ark. He was retired from Firestone and Amfuel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie B. Smith.

Survivors include two children, Lee Allen Smith and Teresa G. Smith of McNeil; two sisters, Velma Hill of Waldo and Valerie Howell of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, the Rev. Robert Lee Smith of Waldo and Fletcher Smith Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; and one grandson, Jamie Allen Smith.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethany Baptist Church, McNeil, with the Rev. J.H. Witcher officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body may be viewed 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
