James Arthur Field, 94, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mr. Fields was born July 27, 1913, in Naples, Texas. He was a retired bus driver for TISD, a member of Rosehill COGIC and a World War II veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie M. Fields of Texarkana; three sons, Leroy Sewell of Texarkana, Lee Charles Fields of Dallas and Willie James “Bill” Fields of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Ruthie M. Dunn of Texarkana and Ida M. Fields of Dallas; four sisters, Edna McGraw and Juanita Jackson of Naples, Nevada Landers of Dallas and Josephine Jordan of Greenville, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. at Rosehill COGIC with Superintendent McCoy Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Nash Cemetery under direction of Richardson Hill Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
