NEW BOSTON, Texas—Lois Jean Nix, 74, of Detroit, Texas, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, in Bagwell, Texas.

Mrs. Nix was born Nov. 21, 1933, in New Boston. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include four daughters, Patsy Holcomb of Detroit, Texas, Kathy Gonzales of Bagwell, Texas, Norma Parks of Blossom, Texas, and Sharon Megason of Texarkana; one son, Kenneth Brown of Nacogdoches, Texas; one sister, Velma Barnard of New Boston; four brothers, Gerald Birdsong, Frederick Birdsong and Donald Birdsong of New Boston and Stanford Birdsong of Linden, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were May 15 at Old Union Cemetery, Simms, Texas. Burial was under direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home.
