HOPE, Ark.—Mary Alice Poindexter, 61, of Bodcaw, Ark., died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mrs. Poindexter was born Nov. 2, 1946, in Camden, Ark. She was a homemaker and a member of Bodcaw No. 1 Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Jewell Poindexter of Bodcaw; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jewell Jr. and Missy Poindexter and John Michael Poindexter of Bodcaw; one brother, James Henley of Magnolia, Ark.; one sister, Cherry Hackett of Springfield, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Racie Poindexter, Payton Poindexter, Hayden Poindexter and Carter Poindexter.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bodcaw No. 1 Baptist Church with the Revs. Ed Phillips and Roger Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Bodcaw No. 1 Cemetery under direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
