MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas—Carroll Wayne Elrod, 56, of Cherry Valley, Ark., died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, in a Memphis, Tenn., hospital.

Mr. Elrod was born Jan. 23, 1952, in Pittsburg, Texas. He was a Baptist and a Vietnam War Marine veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Elrod of Cherry Valley; three sons, Andy Elrod of Corinth, Miss., and John Merrell Jr. and D.J.
