HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas—James H. Stevens, 64, of Daingerfield, Texas, died Friday, May 16, 2008, in a Daingerfield nursing home.

Mr. Stevens was born July 21, 1943. He was a truck driver and a church deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lue Gauntt Stevens of Hughes Springs; four sons, Bradley Stevens of Bossier City, La., Mickey Stevens and Daniel Stevens of Tyler, Texas, and Christopher Stevens of Hot Springs, Ark.; one brother, John D. Stevens of Longview, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Veal Switch Missionary Baptist Church with Butch Shipp and H.G. Hargrave officiating. Burial will be in Veal Switch Cemetery under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
