HOPE, Ark.—Hattie Whitmore Clardy, 80, of Center Point, Ark., died Friday, May 16, 2008, in Nashville, Ark.

Mrs. Clardy was born June 2, 1927, in Center Point. She was the Center Point Homecoming secretary, Center Point Cemetery Association secretary and a member of New View Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rayfield Clardy; one granddaughter, LaSandra Clardy; and one great-granddaughter, Shasia Scoggins.

Survivors include two sons, Billy R. Clardy of St. Paul, Minn., and Larry Clardy of Texarkana; three daughters, Brenda L. Bell of Lockesburg, Ark., Doris J. McFalls of St. Paul and Carolyn A. Jefferson of Center Point; two grandchildren, Terry D. Clardy of Conway, Ark., and LaDonna K. Hendrix of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; one special friend, Doris Coulter; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at New View Church of Christ, Center Point, under direction of Hicks Funeral Home.

The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. before the service.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
