DAVID WOMMACK JR.

ATLANTA, Texas—David Alton Wommack Jr., 65, of Atlanta, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mr. Wommack was born Aug. 31, 1942, in Texarkana, Ark. He was owner and general manager for KALT AM and KPYN FM radio stations, the voice of the “Trading Post”, and a civic leader whose service included being a member of the Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce, Atlanta Independent School District School Board, Atlanta Lion’s Club and deacon with the First Baptist Church of Atlanta.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ann Wommack of Atlanta; two sons and daughters-in-law, David Michael and Melinda Wommack of Atlanta, and Thomas and Stacy Wommack of Grapevine, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Kathy Wommack of Atlanta; one brother-in-law, A.D. Wright of Kildare, Texas; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Atlanta with Gary Davis officiating. Burial will be under direction of Hanner Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
