JOHN MILLER

DE QUEEN, Ark.—John William Miller, 79, of De Queen died Thursday, May 22, 2008, in a local nursing home.

Mr. Miller was born Sept. 8, 1928, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He was an employee of Schmidt Construction and a member of Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Harter Miller of De Queen, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Joseph Miller of Mount Pleasant and Terry and Lisa Miller of Lonoke, Okla.; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Jean Evans of Mount Pleasant, Sherry Evans of Burlington, Iowa, Cindy and Donnie Bivins of Haworth, Okla., and Tracy and Robin Morris of Wickes, Ark.; one sister, Pearl Dougherty of Winterset, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Smyrna Cemetery with Charles Foster Krudwig officiating. Burial will be under direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
