JOHN PENNINGTON SR.

HOPE, Ark.—John William Pennington Sr., 90, of McCaskill, Ark., died Saturday, May 24, 2008, in a Nashville, Ark., nursing home.

Mr. Pennington was born Oct. 28, 1917, in Alby, Texas. He was welder, a Baptist and a decorated World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include one son, John William Pennington Jr. of Houston; three daughters, Bonnie Loving of Conroe, Texas, Vivian Roberts of McCaskill and Balanda Pennington of Bryan, Texas; one brother, Billy Pennington of Fort Worth, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Merrill Cemetery, McCaskill, with the Rev. James Roberts officiating. Burial will be under direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
