FRANK STERLE
Frank J. Sterle, 82, of Texarkana, Texas, died Friday, May 23, 2008, in a local hospital. Dr. Sterle was born April 20, 1926, in Memphis, Tenn. He was partner in Sylvester-Sterle Construction Co. in Port Arthur, Texas, a retired optometrist, a tutor for the Literacy Council, past board member of Opportunities Inc., prison ministry, and Longview St. Vincent DePaul, a member of Noon Optimist Club, Knights of Columbus and East Texas Bishop Guild and a Eucharist minister, lector and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Sterle Massey. Survivors include his wife, Betty Sterle of Texarkana; one son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Debbie Sterle of Houston; one daughter Diane Wilcox of Plano, Texas; two brothers, Joe Sterle and Val Sterle of Texarkana; five grandchildren; one great-grandson Brett Neja Neundorfer of Houston; nephew Joe Sterle of Austin; one niece, Ashley Sterle of Austin; and a number of other relatives. Mass will be 10 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerald Priest officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery under the direction of East Funeral Home, Moores Lane.
