LEONA JOHNSON

Leona M. Johnson, 85, of Hooks, Texas, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Johnson was born Dec. 24, 1922, in Hooks. She was retired from Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant and a member of Myrtle Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Johnson Sr.; and one son, Everett Johnson Jr.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Bruce Nall of Hooks; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jimmy Johnson and Jerry and Melody Johnson of Hooks; two brothers, Milton Wetz of Hooks and John Wetz of Texarkana; two sisters, Sue Boatright and Minnie White of Hooks; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Myrtle Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Eakin officiating. Burial will be under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
