Marshall F. Watkins, age 88 of Harrisburg, Ark., died Friday, May 23, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Watkins was born May 27, 1919 in Perry County, Ark. He was a retired security guard for Mercedes-Benz, Tuscaloosa, Ala., and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Harrisburg, Ark. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Watkins; and one daughter, Ernestine Sutton McJunkins.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Nancy and Bobby Byrd of Harrisburg; one brother, Melton Luther Watkins of Keithville, La.; two sisters: Judy Antee of De Berry, Texas, and Nellie Ickles of Spring Lake, N.J.; three grandchildren: Eddie Lynn Sutton of Texarkana and Tony Byrd and Alisha Carter both of Harrisburg; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at East Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jesse Haynes officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.

Relatives will be at the home of Edwin Watkins, County Road 26, Fouke, Ark.
