NEW BOSTON, Texas—A.B. Dalton Allen, 82, of Simms, Texas, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, in a local nursing home.

Mr. Allen was born Sept. 4, 1925, in Red River County, Texas. He was a carpenter, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and St. Mary Catholic Church and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by two sons, James Dalton Allen and Charles David Allen Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Allen of Simms; one daughter, Mary Moody of Oak Grove, Texas; one son, Travis Allen of Wake Village, Texas; one sister, Ruth Mosley of Temple, Texas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. today at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Demski officiating. Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Umbarger, Texas, with the Rev. Moses Kallarackal officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
