Earlie Mae Griffie, 94, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mr. Griffie was born March 4, 1914, in Texarkana. He was a member of Eylau Lodge 220 and Macedonia Baptist Church, where he was chairman of the deacon board, Sunday school superintendent and choir member.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Marie Griffie of Texarkana; three sons, Claudius Griffie, Jim M. Griffie and Early Maceo Griffie of Texarkana; three daughters, Arthalia Hardy and Yolanda Mueller of Texarkana and Lora Willis of Charlotte, N.C.; 22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Revs. Willie Williams Jr. and A.J. Gay officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
