EDGAR COX
Edgar Murrin Cox, 87, of Texarkana, Ark., died Thursday, May 29, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Cox was born Aug. 4, 1920, in McAlester, Okla. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, a retired typewriter repairman, a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a World War II and Korean War Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lamiria Jean Cox, in 2000. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Billie Jean and Robert Murphy of Pine Bluff, Ark.; two granddaughters, Cathy Johnmann of Texarkana and Jamie Finley of Lakeridge, Va.; one grandson, Kelly Murphy of Pine Bluff; and two great-grandchildren, Stephanie Finley and Lexie Anderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas, with the Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Relatives will be at 7106 Live Oak Drive, Texarkana, Ark. Memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, 9143 U.S. Highway 82, Texarkana, AR 71854, or Southwest Arkansas Senior Adult Center, 1007 Jefferson, Texarkana, AR 71854.
