Florene Burris, 84, of Ogden, Ark., died Monday, May 26, 2008, at her home.

Mrs. Burris was born Sept. 11, 1923, in Ogden. She was a production worker and cook with MC’s Cafe and Lone Star and a member of New Canaan Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Givens Burris of Ogden; four sons, Chester Burris, Roy Burris and Rocky Burris of Ogden and Bobby Burris of Texarkana; six daughters, Willie Green, Shirley Burris, Mary Greene and Cynthia William of Ogden, Verlyn Gulley of Fayetteville, Ark., and Rhonda Burris of Texarkana; two brothers, James Thurston of Vallejo, Calif., and Euree Thurston of San Francisco; three sisters, Velma McElroy of Mandeville, Ark., and Ever Lois Keener and Pinkie Starks of Ogden; 38 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Ogden, with the Rev. Stephen Burris officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Cemetery under direction of Lyles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p .m. today at the funeral home.
