DE QUEEN, Ark.—Ben Harrison Neeley Sr., 85, of De Queen died Sunday, June 1, 2008, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mr. Neeley was born Aug. 10, 1922, in De Queen. He was the founder of Neeley’s Welding and a member of Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Jean Burnett Neeley of De Queen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ben Jr. and Sue Neeley, and Rodger and Teresa Neeley of De Queen; one brother, Olen Neeley of De Queen; four grandchildren, Tammy Phipps and Jocelyn Reed of De Queen, Benjamin Neeley of Teague, Texas, and Jonathan Neeley of Nashville, Ark.; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Private services will be 10 a.m. today at Chandler Funeral Home with Billy Blakney officiating. Private burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery.
