Elbert Clifford Vaughn, 85, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, May 29, 2008, in Little Rock.

Mr. Vaughn was born May 4, 1923, in Cowan, Tenn. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force, member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and a World War II and Korean War Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Vaughn; and two daughters, Sharon Horie and Rebecca Coleman.

Survivors include one daughter and two sons-in-law, Carol and Bob Simpson, and James Coleman of Texarkana; stepdaughter, Janice Vaughn of Nash, Texas; one sister, Betty Lou of Cowan; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at East Funeral Home, Moores Lane, with the Rev. Harold Williams officiating. Burial will be in Malta Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
