DE QUEEN, Ark.—Loyce Dean “Sonny” McWhorter, 75, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, June 1, 2008, at his home.

Mr. McWhorter was born March 16, 1933, in Provo, Ark. He was a retired truck driver and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Melva Schultz McWhorter of Texarkana; two daughters, Cathy and Becky; one stepson, George; his mother, Pearl McWhorter of Texarkana; one sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Rufus Askew of Texarkana; and one brother, Jack McWhorter of Rancho Indio, Calif.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at McHorse Cemetery with Fred Cox Jr. officiating. Burial will be under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
