LEO FISHER
Leo Leonard Fisher, 80, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, June 1, 2008, in a local nursing home.
Mr. Fisher was born Sept. 24, 1927, in Columbia, La. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, employed with Oaklawn Race Track, Hot Springs, Ark., a member of Elks Lodge 380, First United Methodist Church, Hot Springs, and First Baptist Church, Texarkana, and a World War II Army veteran. He was preceded in death by one wife, Peggy Fisher; and one son, Mike Fisher. Survivors include his wife, Alma Fisher of Texarkana; one daughter, Dianne Fisher Button of Hot Springs; one brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Nancy Fisher of New Braunfels, Texas; one sister, Lola Graham of Columbia; two stepchildren, Misti Cranford and Justin Westmoreland; four grandchildren including Shad Wooten; and one great-grandchild. Services will be 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, Hot Springs, with the Revs. Bud Reeves and Jim Benfer officiating. Graveside services will be at a later date at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas. Visitation will follow the service Wednesday at the church.
