ANNIE GILKEY
STAMPS, Ark.—Annie Mae Gilkey, 84, of Stamps died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at her home.
Ms. Gilkey was born Feb. 9, 1924, in Hope, Ark. She was an employee of Stamps School District and a member of Eastern Star and Bethel AME Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, trustee and mission worker. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Gilkey Sr.; three children, William “Bill” Gilkey, Dorothy Gilkey and Ruth Williams; and four grandchildren, Bernard Williams, Charles Gilkey Jr., John Pree Jr. and Rodney Rucks. Survivors include 11 children, Linda Gilkey of Paramount, Calif., Cynthia Gilkey and Burnis Gilkey of Stamps, Charles Gilkey of Olean, N.Y., Terry Gilkey, George Gilkey and Robert Gilkey of Erie, Pa., Otis Gilkey of Vallejo, Calif., Curtis Gilkey of Los Angeles, Dennis Gilkey of Cleveland, Texas, and Raymond Gilkey of Magnolia, Ark.; one sister, Narvell Berry of Marino Valley, Calif.; one brother, Otis Laudermill of Los Angeles; and 96 grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lafayette County School Auditorium with the Rev. Andrew Banks officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home.
