JOSEPH SHAW
HOPE, Ark.—Joseph Ruskin Shaw, 91, of Hope died Thursday, June 5, 2008, in a local nursing home.
Mr. Shaw was born July 7, 1916, in Boone County, Ind. He was a retired pumping plant supervisor with Trunkline Gas Co., a 32nd degree Mason with Zion Masonic Lodge, Zionsville, Ind., and Quincy Masonic Consistory, Quincy, Ill., and a member of Southwest Arkansas Arts Council, Hope Golden K service club and First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two wives, Zula Shaw and Delora Fay Shaw; and one daughter, Virginia Shaw Miller. Survivors include two stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Michael and Deborah Malek of Hope and Jerome and Sharon Malek of San Antonio; two grandchildren and spouses, Robb and Jeannie Miller of Mount Airy, Md., and Jennifer and Chris Albany of Wayne, Pa.; six stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Earl Cumbie officiating. Burial will be under direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the home of Michael and Deborah Malek, 1115 Fox Run, Hope. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 315 S. Main, Hope, AR 71801.
