NEW BOSTON, Texas—Cullen K. “Sonny” Earnest, 76, of New Boston died Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Earnest was born Oct. 21, 1931, in Lick Creek, Ark. He was a retired truck driver with Red Ball and a Korean War Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Geryldine Earnest of New Boston; three sons, Gary Earnest of Lafayette, La., Ricky Earnest of Bossier City, La., and Ken Earnest of Wards Creek, Texas; two daughters, Alesia Stone of Des Moines, Iowa, and Patricia Barron of Haughton, La.; one brother, Donald Earnest of Ashdown, Ark.; two sisters, Lavelle Withom of Ogden, Ark., and Sharon Kidd of Ashdown; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Creek officiating. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
