MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas—Clyde “C.J.” Jones Jr., 67, of Mount Pleasant died Thursday, June 5, 2008, in Mount Pleasant.

Mr. Jones was born July 21, 1940, in Morris County, Texas. He was retired from City of Mount Pleasant, a foreman with T&N Warehouse and Lone Star, and employed with Mount Pleasant Independent School District. He was preceded in death by two sons, Frederick Gilstrap and Dick Douglass; and one daughter, Mary Alice Gilstrap.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Jean Jones of Mount Pleasant; five sons, Darrell Keith Stanberry of Katy, Texas, Darryl Jones of Daingerfield, Texas, Derrick Jones of Longview, Texas, Corey Holloman of Hughes Springs, Texas, and Aundraus Williams of Dallas; three daughters, Gayleen Hamilton Jernigan of Lone Star, Texas, Teresa Everett of Mount Pleasant and Stacey Brooks of Little Elm, Texas; three brothers, Garfield Jones and Terry Lynn Turner of Daingerfield and Curtis Jones of Norfolk, Va.; one sister, Joann Jones of Daingerfield; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at First COGIC, Mount Pleasant, with A.C. Greenwood and Tommy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Cortznes Cemetery under direction of Tumey Mortuary.

The body may be viewed 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
