MIDLOTHIAN, Texas—Robert Windall Emerson, 77, of Midlothian died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, in Waxahachie Texas.

Mr. Emerson was born Feb. 21, 1931, in Kemp, Texas. He was the founder of Silken, Inc. , president of the chamber of commerce, member of Church of Christ and and a former Air Force and Air National Guard pilot. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Clint Kuykendall and Kay Emerson.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Lee Helms; one daughter, Lynn Kuykendall; two sons, Bobby Emerson and Steve Emerson; one brother, R.A. Emerson; one sister, Edwinna Hardage; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Midlothian Church of Christ. Burial will be under direction of Midlothian Funeral Home.
