SULPHUR, La.—Margie Louise Garner Black, 78, of Sulphur, formerly of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, June 16, 2008, in Sulphur.

Mrs. Black was born Sept. 2, 1929. She was a retired registered nurse from Lake Charles Memorial Hospital and Conoco Refinery.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Eugene Howard and Deborah Black of Dayton, Texas, and Sulphur; three daughters and one son-in-law, Cassandra Black of Sulphur, Vicki Montgomery of Houston and Johanna “Joey” Black and Henry Nugent of Dayton; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Jeannie Garner of Daingerfield, Texas; one special friend, Dortha Ann Banken; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednes-day at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy, La.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
