L.E. “Bud” Elrod, 89, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, in a local nursing home.

Mr. Elrod was born Sept. 18, 1918, in Bowie County, Texas. He was a retired highway construction worker, a former Miller County Deputy, a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Odessa Harris Elrod of Texarkana; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Lewis LaGrone and Yvonne and Robert McCracken of Texarkana; two sisters, Dura Purifoy of Texarkana and Raby Little of Atlanta, Texas; three grandchildren, Rod LaGrone...
