DeKALB, Texas—Martha “Jean” Hicks Jaggers, 83, of DeKalb died Sunday, June 29, 2008, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Jaggers was born Feb. 20, 1925, in Bryan, Texas. She was retired from DeKalb ISD and a member of DeKalb Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Jaggers.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Sheryl Jaggers of Crandall, Texas, and Jimmy and Dana Jaggers of Redwater, Texas; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty and Jody Valerian and Earl White of Bryan and Jo Huff of Houston; one sister-in-law, Betty Hicks of Bryan; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at DeKalb Church of Christ with Michael Gilbert and Billy Blakney officiating. Burial will be in Woodmen Cemetery under direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
