JEFFERSON, Texas—James A. Oliver, 77, of Jefferson died Monday, June 30, 2008, in a Linden, Texas, hospital.

Mr. Oliver was born Sept. 19, 1930. He was preceded in death by one son and one granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Cora Oliver; three sons, Bishop Osmond, Micheal Oliver and Anothy Oliver; four daughters, Kathy Willis, Annette Brown, Sherethe Jones and Betty Love; three brothers, Willie, Billy Roy and Harold; three sisters, Rose, Shirley and Vangy; 36 grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Judea Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Val McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Judea Cemetery under direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. today at the funeral home.
