Billie Gene Sams, 84, of Texarkana, Ark., died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Sams was born April 17, 1924, in Miller County, Ark. He was retired from Parks Metal Fabricators and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Sams.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Dale and Rita Sams; two brothers, J.B. Sams and Kenneth Sams; one sister, Irene Swinney; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jennifer and Robby McCollom; two grandsons and one daughter-in-law, B.J. and Nicole Sams and Jeff Damon Sams; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Relatives will be at the home of Billy Dale and Rita Sams.
