GERALD STARK

LINDEN, Texas—Gerald Howard Stark, 56, of Avinger, Texas, died Friday, July 4, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Stark was born Sept. 13, 1951, in Alexandria, La. He was a self-employed welder, a member of Avinger United Methodist Church and a Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Marita Stark; one son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Becky Hayes of Gilmer, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Scott Green of Lufkin, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Herb and Wilma Stark of Port Isabel, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Virginia and Loyd LaCombe of Effie, La.; six grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Avinger United Methodist Church with Richard Dowden officiating. Burial will be in Avinger Cemetery under direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
