DORIS SMITH

ATLANTA, Texas—Doris E. Smith, 71, of Atlanta died Thursday, July 3, 2008, in Atlanta.

Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 12, 1936, in Fouke, Ark. She was a homemaker and a Pentecostal. She was preceded in death by one son, Kenny Smith.

Survivors include one son, James Smith of Texarkana; five daughters, Kathy Whatley of Atlanta, Elaine Daves of Calera, Okla., and Mabel Phillips, Peggy Sonato and Betty Griffin of Texarkana; two brothers, Henry Jones of Coffeyville, Kan., and Dennis Dean of Texarkana; 12 sisters, Shirley Turner, Lavern Adams and Sheila Murray of Texarkana, Vera Mae Smith, Janet Smith, Carolyn Dean and Zelda Alton of Fouke, Tina Postell and Ailene Hatch of Woodland, Calif., Marie Conklin of McKinleyville, Calif., Lois Holliman of Arcadia, Calif., and Bobbie Wilson of Eureka, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Red Lick Cemetery with Bobby Gresham officiating. Burial will be under direction of Hanner Funeral Service.
