NEW BOSTON, Texas—Murkle Loretta Jones, 84, of New Boston died Sunday, July 6, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Jones was born April 24, 1924, in Malta, Texas. She was a retired clerical employee at Red River Army Depot and a member of Westside Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Cater Jones of New Boston; two sons, Rickey Joe Jones of Dallas and Randy Dean Jones of Austin, one sister, Lena Fae White of DeKalb, Texas; one brother, “Hooty” Russell of Malta; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Westside Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in New Boston Cemetery under direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
