HOPE, Ark.—Wanda Lee East, 80, of Hope died Monday, July 7, 2008, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mrs. East was born Aug. 24, 1927, in DeAnn, Ark. She was owner of Wanda’s Grocery and a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Charlie East; and one daughter, Patricia Ann East Volentine.

Survivors include one son, Curtis East of Hope; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Sammy Barton of Lewisville, Ark.; one sister, Charlene Reeves of Nashville, Ark.; five grandchildren, Tracy Canning and Alisha Nipper of Texarkana, Tyler Barton of Buckner, Ark., Kathleen Minton of Story, Ark., and Daniel Barton of Lewisville; one great-grandchild, Teyton Barton of Buckner; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home with the Revs. Dwayne Parish and Mark Faulkner officiating. Burial will be in Shover Springs Cemetery.

Relatives will be at the family home, 1305 James St., Hope.
