BARBARA MEREDITH

CLARKSVILLE, Texas—Barbara Whiteman Meredith, 69, of Clarksville died Tuesday, July 8, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Meredith was born April 15, 1939, in Clarksville. She was a retired loan officer for the USDA Farm Service Agency, a member of College Avenue Baptist Church and an Army veteran.

Survivors include her husband, James Meredith of Clarksville; two sons, Michael Meredith of Bogata, Texas, and Jason Meredith of Clarksville; two sisters, Janet Ussery of Clarksville and Charlotte Kornell of Dallas; one brother, James B. Whiteman of Sulphur Springs, Texas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. today at Madras Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Dodson officiating. Burial will be under direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. today at the funeral home.
