JEFFERSON, Texas—Adolphus Cole Sr., 66, of Jefferson died Thursday, June 3, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mr. Cole was born Aug. 15, 1941, in Harleton, Texas. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by one son, Henry Leon Cole.

Survivors include his wife, Lessie B. Cole; three sons, Adolphus Cole Jr. and Paul Matthews Cole of Jefferson and Walter Mack Cole of Fort Eustis, Va.; four daughters, Lessie Mae Cole and Tommie Marie Cole of Jefferson and Angela Cole and Leitha Ann Cole of Longview, Texas; two brothers, Robert Lee Cole of Houston and Albert D. Cole of Dallas; two sisters, Bobbie Garrett and Mattie Cook of Dallas; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Zion Baptist Church, Harleton, with the Rev. Emanuel Ward officiating. Burial will be in New Zion Cemetery under direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home.

The body may be viewed today at the funeral home.
