John D. McElhaney, 70, of Queen City, Texas, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mr. McElhaney was born Aug. 28, 1937, in Norman, Okla.

Survivors include his wife, Mary McElhaney of Queen City; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Lori McElhaney of Austin; one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Dale Endsley of Bivins, Texas; one brother, David F. McElhaney of Mustang, Okla.; four grandchildren, Valerie McElhaney and Matthew McElhaney of Austin, Katherine Forrest of Flint, Texas, and Melissa Eaves of Atlanta, Texas; one great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives.

Cremation is under direction of East Funeral Home, Moores Lane.
