DOUGLAS BRANTLEY
HOPE, Ark.—Douglas Ward Brantley, 73, of DeAnn, Ark., died Saturday, July 12, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Brantley was born April 12, 1935, in Greenville, N.C. He was a former steel worker and Meyers truck driver, a cattle farmer, an Army veteran and a member of Cattlemen’s Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars of North Carolina, Teamsters Union, North American Hunting Club and Midway United Methodist Church, Prescott, Ark. Survivors include his wife, Betty Sams Brantley of DeAnn; his mother-in-law, Bertha Ree Sams of Emmet, Ark.; one niece, Rheana Jester of DeAnn; three nephews, Colton Jester and Dillion Jester of Camden, Ark., and Damion Jester of DeAnn; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Midway United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Teeter officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery under direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Online registration is at www.brazzelfuneralhomes.com.
